We believe that children learn through experiences and that it is our job to provide them with those learning opportunities every day that they come to school. At FSB we record those special moments in our online Seesaw Learning Journal which is then shared with parents / guardians.
This online platform allows us to capture and share your child’s progress with you, as well as monitor their development and learning. Videos, photos and samples of your child’s work will be regularly uploaded for you to view, providing parents and carers with an immediate and personalised window into their child’s learning in school.
Older children are able to upload their own work and use Seesaw as a tool for reflection. They can explain their learning using photos, videos, drawings, text, PDFs, and links that they upload in addition to those uploaded by the teacher. Children can use Seesaw’s built-in audio recording and drawing tools to reflect on what they’ve learned or explain how they got their answer.
Seesaw will follow children for their entire journey at FSB and so over time, an organised, digital portfolio of each child’s learning is created. Seesaw is accessible via almost any device – Seesaw exists as an app on tablets and phones, as well as on a desktop computer. It is not shared with anyone else as each child has their own individual journal.In order for your child to use Seesaw, we have to obtain your consent and that in signing a consent form you are allowing the app to use your child’s name in order to be able to associate work like photographic evidence of work, videos or voice recordings with their account. Seesaw only uses this information to provide the service and doesn’t advertise in Seesaw, create profiles of students, or share or sell your child’s personal information or journal content.
