Head of School’s Welcome

Emma Mulligan - Head of School The First Steps Bangkok Pre-school

Welcome to the First and Future Steps International School (FSB), located on Sukhumvit 31 in the very heart of Bangkok.

Building on the ethos and values of our 24 year old international pre-school, The First Steps, FSB offers an inclusive education for children aged 5 – 11 years old. We are proud to follow the English National Curriculum, tailored to our own international community, comprised of exciting, creative and challenging opportunities that all children will be engaged in. Our fully qualified teachers provide outstanding pastoral care and offer a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities.

Our priority is to nurture each child; foster their individual talents and abilities, and challenge them to achieve their full potential. Our goal is to help children develop the courage to believe in themselves, to take risks and to try new things. We encourage everyone to learn from mistakes, develop their perseverance and to help others along this journey.

While we are committed to achieving academic excellence our main concern for your children is their happiness and well-being. Children should be encouraged to smile and laugh, as well as learn, think, work and play. We believe that this is what gives children the ability to flourish and to be ready to grow in a world that is diverse and ever changing. We work in partnership with parents and our wider community, believing that teaching staff, administrative staff and parents all have a role to play in making a successful school.  At FSB we believe that the needs of the children should be at the centre of everything that we do. Every action in school is carefully considered and measured for the impact it will have upon your child, from the technology used in the classrooms to the environment, both indoors and out.

It is a great privilege and responsibility to be involved in educating and shaping the lives of young people. At Future Steps Bangkok, we take our role very seriously. If you are considering the school, I hope this website will give you a flavour of our ethos and what we stand for.

Thank you for your interest and I look forward to meeting you and your child in the near future.

“I believe strongly in the power of diversity and the innate potential of every child. I value inclusion and actively seek to discover the unique voice of each child as they develop through education. As the leader of the school, my main job is to make sure your child is safe, happy and achieving well whilst they are here. Through education, we have the gift of inspiring a love of learning; creativity, and the courage to make positive choices to build the future. We need to put children first and shape our teaching to bring out the best and most productive learning in each student.”
