BACKGROUND:
I am from Fujian, South China. When I was a student, I loved Chinese history and the classical Chinese language. My university background is in Journalism and Communication and classical Chinese language. I earned my Chinese as a Foreign Language Teacher’s Certificate in 2022, and my Language Teacher’s Putonghua Grade (2A) Certificate in 2023. And I have been teaching Chinese as a foreign language at FSB from 2021 to 2024. I have good experience in teaching Chinese as a foreign language and good intercultural communication skills.
STRENGHTS:
I like to teach using lively themes so that students can learn Chinese in a ‘learn by play’ way, learn about traditional Chinese culture and develop a love for learning Chinese. I focus on developing students’ ability to use the language and use a variety of teaching methods to develop individualised lesson plans based on students’ real needs and learning characteristics. At the same time, I also focus on communication and cooperation with parents, focusing together on the students’ growth and development.
WHAT I LOVE ABOUT TEACHING:
There is no denying that the teaching profession is rewarding. It is like a seed trying to grow every day. Especially teaching Chinese to children from all over the world. Watching them improve day by day is the greatest motivation in my career.
FSB is a close-knit community full of love and joy, where teachers, parents and students know each other well. The school team is fully committed to providing a wonderful and enjoyable learning experience for our students.
MY APPROACH IN THE CLASSROOM:
I use a variety of teaching methods, including (situational teaching, communicative teaching, task-based teaching, cultural experience teaching, multimedia teaching, etc.). Through the use of homemade materials and interesting themes, I help children to build up their confidence and gain a true understanding of Chinese history, culture and language.
LOOKING AHEAD:
My goal this year is to create a good motivation for the students to learn and use Chinese as soon as possible. At the same time, give native Chinese students as much classroom support as possible to help them adapt to their new school faster and better. Without forgetting the original intention, I want FSB to be the Chinese language home for students from all countries in Thailand!
