BACKGROUND:
I am from the very North of Ireland and come from a little town called Coleraine. I qualified with a (BA Hons) in Education and Early Years in 2021 & Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Primary Teaching with a specialism in the Early Years (4-7) in 2022. During my placement year at University, I came to Bangkok to teach at La-Orutis Demonstration School. This confirmed my love for International Teaching and Bangkok.I have been a Qualified Teacher for 2 years (1 in the UK and 1 in Thailand). Before I moved to Thailand I was teaching in many different schools in Northern Ireland.I have taught in year groups from the EYFS from Nursery- Primary 7 (Year 6).
STRENGHTS:
I love creating creative and imaginative activities, that are both fun and educational. These activities allow children to engage in playful, engaging activities that inspire curisoity and creativity in young children. I enjoy promoting my love for lifelong reading in the early years.
WHAT I LOVE ABOUT TEACHING:
The high-fives… the lightbulb moments, the moment you impact a little life you can feel it in your heart. Watching the children meet their individual milestones in their cognitive, social, emotional and physical growth. I love to inspire and empower young minds. Students deserve a safe place to learn, grow and find love and support. Children are natural learners just waiting to have their potential realized. It is incredibly rewarding to spend each day with my students.
MY APPROACH IN THE CLASSROOM:
My classroom ethos revolves around creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued, respected, and motivated to learn. I love to prioritise children’s interests.
LOOKING AHEAD:
This school year, I am excited to see my students learn, play, explore the world around them and become creative young learners with a lifelong love for learning. I hope to see happy, confident students who experience memorable experiences throughout their school year. I am looking forward to celebrating the achievements of my students, recognizing their hard work and growth this year.
