BACKGROUND:
I am from Japan and have been teaching Japanese for both Japanese and foreign students since 2001. I earned my master’s degree in education in Australia in 2007 and am also qualified to teach Japanese to both foreigners and Japanese students. I experienced teaching a variety of students in some international schools in Thailand.
STRENGHTS:
I have spent most of my teaching career at international schools, which has provided me with a deep understanding of the needs of Japanese students and their parents living abroad. I also recognize the language skills that my students will be expected to attain after graduating from primary school, drawing on my experience teaching secondary students.
WHAT I LOVE ABOUT TEACHING:
I believe that teaching is one of the most wonderful jobs in the world. I love meeting students from diverse backgrounds, as it makes my life colorful and enriching.
MY APPROACH IN THE CLASSROOM:
Students spend most of their time in homeroom, where they learn concepts through English. In my class, students have the opportunity to explore the same topics covered in their English lessons, but from different perspectives. This approach makes learning more dynamic and helps students develop a rich vocabulary.
LOOKING AHEAD:
The 2024-25 school year marks the first time the school offers a language program for each year group. I aim to provide my students with a stable language program that supports their learning both at school and at home.
