Ms. Lynda

BACKGROUND:
I am originally from Scotland and have been teaching in Thailand for the past six years—three years in Chiang Mai and three in Bangkok. I hold a BA Honours degree from Edinburgh Napier University and a PGCEi from Derby University. In addition to my teaching qualifications, I have a TEFL certification with distinction and am trained in Makaton through NHS Tayside, which allows me to support children with communication needs effectively.

STRENGHTS:
I pride myself on focusing on wellbeing and nurturing as well as independence and critical thinking. I create a warm and supportive environment where children feel safe, valued, and emotionally secure. I also encourage independence by fostering critical thinking through open-ended questions and problem-solving activities, helping children become confident, self-reliant learners.

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT TEACHING:
I love seeing the progress and growth in my students and watching their young minds explore and understand the world around them. I am passionate about creating a dynamic and interactive classroom where children feel excited about learning, discover their unique talents, and are supported in their personal growth. Being part of a community-oriented school where collaboration and teamwork help build the best learning environment is incredibly rewarding.

MY APPROACH IN THE CLASSROOM:
I believe in fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child feels respected, valued, and has the freedom to express themselves, developing a strong sense of belonging. My classroom is hands-on and engaging, encouraging exploration and experimentation while catering to different learning styles to ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed. I strive to balance structure with creativity, creating a positive and stimulating atmosphere where children can thrive both academically and personally.

LOOKING AHEAD:
Looking ahead, I am excited to help my students become happy, healthy, and confident young learners who are eager to explore the world around them. I hope to inspire a love of learning, a sense of curiosity, and a strong sense of self-worth in each child. I am committed to creating a warm and nurturing environment where every child can build a solid foundation for a bright and exciting future.
