BACKGROUND:
After completing my International Bachelor of Social Science, I decided to pursue a career in teaching. I began teaching EFL/ESL in Malta and later Bangkok over a 3 year period, where I developed my enthusiasm for working with young learners. This led me to transition into the international school setting in Bangkok, where I understood that early years education is my passion long-term career path. With this in mind, I returned to Scotland to further my studies and graduated in June 2024 with a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (Primary) from the University of Aberdeen. Now, I am incredibly excited to be back in Bangkok and continue my journey in early years education at FSB
STRENGHTS:
I am dedicated to supporting children’s overall well-being in three keyways. First, I create nurturing environments that promote self-regulation and independence, helping young learners develop essential emotional and social skills. Second, I naturally foster strong, trusting relationships to ensure students feel secure and valued, enabling them to explore and express themselves freely. Lastly, my emphasis on mindfulness and core values such as empathy, kindness, and gratitude reinforce my approach, promoting academic growth alongside personal and emotional development while prioritising safety and well-being.
WHAT I LOVE ABOUT TEACHING:
I find immense joy in observing students as they make positive choices and demonstrate positive social values toward one another. Witnessing their growth into compassionate individuals and responsible citizens reinforces my commitment to fostering an inclusive and nurturing classroom environment. It’s incredibly rewarding to see them develop not just academically, but also socially and emotionally, embodying the values we instill together. These young learners are the future.
MY APPROACH IN THE CLASSROOM:
My classroom ethos centers around providing opportunities for in-the-moment teaching, being present to respond dynamically to children’s interests, desires, dispositions, and difficulties. I believe in creating an environment that encourages exploration and curiosity, allowing students to take ownership of their learning journey. This responsive approach not only nurtures their academic growth but also supports their emotional and social development, ensuring that each child feels heard and valued.
LOOKING AHEAD:
Looking ahead, I am excited to create a classroom atmosphere that encourages independence, resilience, and a love of learning. My goal is to empower each child to embrace their unique strengths while supporting their personal and social growth. Together, I want to build a community where we celebrate achievements, navigate challenges, and develop the skills to become compassionate and responsible members of society! We’re off to a great start!
