BACKGROUND:
I was born in Linz, a larger city in Austria, where I spent my childhood and youth. After completing school, I studied primary education in Linz, specializing in sports and theater pedagogy and qualified as a primary teacher in 2021. I then began teaching as a language support teacher for German as a second language. From 2021 to 2024, I worked as a language support teacher and class teacher in various municipal schools in Austria. After my last position in Vienna, I decided to embark on a new adventure and moved to Bangkok to start working as a German teacher here.
STRENGHTS:
In teaching, I am very spontaneous and flexible. I believe this is crucial for addressing the individual needs of children. During my studies and my diverse teaching experience, I have built a solid pedagogical foundation and am always prepared for the unpredictable. Additionally, I see my strengths primarily in quickly recognizing what a child needs to make the next step.
WHAT I LOVE ABOUT TEACHING:
What I love most about teaching is the variety and the new challenges encountered each day. We work with truly special individuals who bring something different every day. Managing this and incorporating each person’s individuality fills me with joy and motivates me anew every day. At FSB, I experience this individuality on many levels, and it is also embraced and valued by everyone involved in school life.
MY APPROACH IN THE CLASSROOM:
In my teaching, I place great importance on allowing children to bring in their own ideas and perspectives, and build on their strengths. This isn’t always achievable with the same methods and approaches. That’s why I approach my teaching very flexibly and openly, adhering to clear structures while fully focusing on the children’s individual needs.
LOOKING AHEAD:
This school year, I want to develop a joyful, constructive, and motivating group dynamic with the children, where learning the German language is successful for everyone, and by the end of the year, each child has made progress at their own level. It’s important to me to give the children a sense of the language and the places where it is spoken, and to inspire them to continue their language learning journey with joy.
