Mr. Tata

I am a music teacher and multi-instrumentalist (piano, classical/electric guitar, electric bass, drum set and flute) who has been teaching music both in school and privately for 18 years. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Srinakharinwirot University in Bangkok, Thailand before pursuing further music education in Chicago, USA where I graduated with a degree in Music Performance from the University of Illinois in Chicago (UIC). I was also awarded a Masters of Education (M.Ed.) with a focus on International Teaching from Framingham State University, USA.

In addition to my knowledge and experience in music teaching I have benefitted from many opportunities to perform at major music festivals and concerts in Illinois, including the Chicago Jazz Festival and Elmhurst College Jazz Festival where I received the ‘Outstanding Recognition Award’ during the 48th Elmhurst College Jazz Festival.

As a music educator, I strive to provide high-quality music education for my students as I believe that participation in music has the potential to enhance the quality of life. From my standpoint, music is not just a school subject, but rather an essential part of the curriculum. Students should have the opportunity to develop all of their potential skills and talents and so I ensure that all children have the opportunity to sing, play musical instruments, compose and listen to appropriate music in school. My music lessons are holistic, child-focused and inclusive. The focus is on active participation in music and so students are given opportunities to continually develop their music skills and knowledge. They are encouraged to reach their potential by using their music skills, imagination, creativity and expression!
