BACKGROUND:
I was born and raised in Düsseldorf. After finishing school, I initially spent a year in a hospice as part of a social service and then flew to South Africa for 10 months to work in an orphanage. In 2017, I began my studies in social work and had the opportunity to spend a semester abroad in the Philippines, where I worked as a social worker in the largest slum in Manila, Tondo. In 2020, I completed my studies and worked as a kindergarten teacher in Germany for 1 ½ years. Subsequently, I moved to Malaysia in 2022, where I was employed as the Head of Library. In 2023, I moved to Bangkok and started working as a German teacher at The First Steps.
STRENGHTS:
I have a strong ability to connect with children, creating a supportive and encouraging environment where they feel safe to express themselves. My patience allows me to quide them through challenges while maintaining a positive and nurturing atmosphere.
WHAT I LOVE ABOUT TEACHING:
What I love about teaching is the opportunity to inspire and shape young minds, helping them grow both academically and personally. Watching students gain confidence and achieve their goal is incredibly rewarding. It’s fulfilling to be part of their journey knowing that I can make a positive impact on their lives.
MY APPROACH IN THE CLASSROOM:
My approach in the classroom is centered around creating a warm, nurturing and playful environment where young children feel safe and excited to explore. I focus on hands-on, sensory-based activities that promote curiosity and help children develop foundational skills through play. By encouraging social interaction, creativity and independence, I support their emotional, social and cognitive growth in a way that feels natural and engaging to them.
LOOKING AHEAD:
In the new school year, I am looking forward to the opportunity to experience new learning adventures with my students and to spark their curiosity. It is always exciting to meet new faces and discover the diverse talents of the children. I am eager to try out innovative teaching methods that will make the lessons varied and inspiring.
